I made a new friend.

Recently I 'caught one'...meaning I was able to find:
1,. A guy doing a video about tuning who states my method is incorrect
2. He only spoke about what the needle do, not how to use them.
3. I approached him in a tactful manner asking him to elaborate on his method, as I don't see how it can possibly be used to race tune an engine.
4. You see, as he decided to go out of his way and state I was wrong with my technique, I thought it was a great chance to dialogue. Instead of dialogue, he (as I expected) got shitty and went in to the ol' "I been tuning engines for 20 years and I'm an auto technician so I'm a pro.."
(Well, see below for some highlights)

How was it I knew he'd respond as such? Well, here are the common denominators:
1, He was 'reading' what the parts on the engine do...not explain how to tune.
2. His 'assumption' about tuning was wrong, so I knew from there he is a fraud.
3. Of course the face he thinks he's a high-roller with his HPI engine (I have four of them, BTW), showed me where his bar was (not very high).
4. It cast in stone when I noticed he had a lot of videos, but no running nitro videos.
5. After I challenged him (both tactfully and in a way he can understand: grimy-like: he lifted up his skirt and banned me, essentially saying I was a noob and not good enough to dialogue with him. I told him I was still a newbie, and he literally said "I don't deal with newbies: blocked"**
6. HE PROMOTES THOSE SUPER-CHARGERS. Okay, I know nothing about them, other thebn everyone know who touts them, well they can't tune for shit.

These are the lies these guys live in. Any thinking person knows the truth, so why does he go that route. Does he think people will say "yeah....you are more skilled then this Newbie!!" and not analyze what's real? That is a slap in his viewers faces, no?

Look...say what you want, but if someone called out my manhood on anything I man'd up about, I would go down swinging. Win or lose, respect mine. However I'm just amazed at what little bitches are out their yapping their mouths like this. Grown-ass men, to boot!

So with that, I thought I'd break down the most common 'responses; I see when I essentially put it down on what of these confidence men. I might not be a "pro" at RC (like the subject matter in question call himself, but I am a pro at dealing with charlatans like this. Couple this with the fact instead of being an automotive tech, I'm a pansy computer nerd, so I'll put that shit to some use with deez stats. ;-)

98% Block Me
2% I block when they get on that silly shit ("I'll kill you and your family you faggot" type shit...of coruse I'm easy to find in this area so if you are about that I appreciate the heads up) ;-)

100% - I'm the MF'ing boss and call the shots when it gets like that. Keep reading, you'll see what I mean.

Of the 98% that block me, I approached 100% of them with tact and dignity. I know this because, well it's how I am. I figure if anything, I've performed my due dilligence by playing nice, but I can indeed take it anywhere that I please. I

46% End up saying: 'I've got better things to do than make videos". I find this funny because I agree in that they instead spend all their on forums jibber-jabbing instead of filming and showing their shit.

17% State: "I'm just a basher" which confuses me because they are the ones tellling people about thick diff oil,. and sway bars and clutch shoes etc. etc yet end up saying 'whoa--whoa...I'm not in to all thart" when questioned. ???

14% End up stating: "I'm not a pro I do this for the fun of it". This simply shows me they don't tune in, because more so than anyone, I've downplayed any "cred" I have and instead focused on the fact I'm just a ...m. ..t. . ...r.. well, you already know.

12% Say: "I'm like to tune my engines on the rich side" (or "I don't lean out my engines"). First: I've shown the longevity of my engines and lay it down with every disadvantage I can come up with. It's not lke I show brand new engines in my clip. Many of them are old ragedy-ass stock engines I get straight thumping. Second, tuning rich or lean means you aren't tuned. I'm done trying to explain that.

8%: Say what this guy does: "You're a newbie and cannot possibly know more than me" All the while have NOTHING to show and some how think people are going to believe that?

3% Don't say a damn word.

To that end, I will say I've had a few come up and say "man, you are right I just got caught up but I would like to learn more" and to a man I've helped ALL of them as I could. So no bully here...but at that same time if you pretend to be something you aren't, to the point it's taking money out of people's pockets, people who don't know any better yet...I'm saying something.

LASTLY:
So with all this said, the above is actually a small minority. As in less than 1% of the folks I deal with. The other %99+ are good fellas and regular guys who simply get it. I learn from them and vice-versa. It's the predatory nature of the blowhards I think should be called out. And (this will be the final time I say this), please understand it doesn'ty 'get to me'. Just because someone stands up for what they believe it doesn't mean it's altering their mindset or behavior. It's simply one of many wrongs I try to make better. If we all did as such, well...you already know. ;-)

Fuaally, below is the comedy in full effect. He kept posting comments asking me questions, but I was blocked so I  can't respond, so that shows what  bitch this f*ck-boy really is.

**For anyone out there who, like myself, are a newbie. Have no shame. Don't let these cowards bully-talk you. This is nothing but silly-ass RC cars, so know this: the ones that act as such, it won't be long before you surpass them. They are stunted all-the-way around, so just keep doing your thing, and lean on the folks who you know are legit (there are plenty of them out there). http://nitrorcnerds.com is a great place to start!

14-1

I haven't posted on here in a while, as I;ve not had anything interesting I deemed worthy. More on that later.

As my channel (unfortunately) grows, I notice that there is a trend of people who for whatever reason simply cannot accept the fact there are people who are doing what they pretend to do, and they view it as being sassy, I view it as real shit. Different era, I guess. And because because they cannot "hang from the shoulders" (meaning make toy cars do what I'm doing--oh my) they turn to "hate".In the grand scheme of things its disappointing.

For those that know me, they realize I'm kind of different in that I grew up kind of a "street urchant" make big money in the pro boxing world, learned technology as it was happening (real-life, Silicone Valley shit) and made more money doing that. People laugh as I'd work with Roy Jones Jr and his camp one day, developing new software protocols the next.

I don't know if I was just lucky, skilled, or both...but it's just my background. With that, I have strong relationships with some incredibly successful (as in VERY successful) people from a breadth of industries.

I don't hate: I appreciate.

A few months ago, I was chatting with and old acquaintance, Sugar Ray Leonard when he was in town to announce a fight on NBC. Most guys my age should know who he is, but if not I assure you he was very well known back in the day. Irregardless, I tease him as I was not a fan of his coming up. I'm a Hagler/Hearns guy (and don't back down from that) and without going in to detail was the guy who would find people for guys like that to fight so they could grow as champions. Basically a pro boxing "scout"...at the highest level. Anyway, Ray is much older than me and I respect him very much. I was not his fan,but he better than Hagler/Hearns. Real shit and I recognize it. Anyway, when I saw him last he told me "I found out quickly the better I got the more popular I became. The more popular I became, the more people hated me...just because...that's life, John" In other words, "Fu*k it". ;-)

I've determined right now that for every 14 "advocates" I have....this being people who truly appreciate what I'm doing here, which is allowing you to get a peak behind the curtain as I ;learn this challenging hobbty there is 1 person who is as "hater"/ I determine this because I'm tortured at night by those who are jealous..either that or I'm a stats geek. Don't remember.

Either way, that;s a pretty strong ratio of people...well--who get it..

It's interesting, as I';ll pubslish a video that is,, say 12 minutes long, as an example. Within 30 second of publishing, I'll already have 1 :"hate". Of course then the likes begin piling up for those who are, well....real. I mean how do you hate someone saying "here are some tips you can try that I've yet to see anyone ever offer, let alon show the results".; In the event you have a problem with it, talk about it....but of course they cannot.

Here is how I envision these haters. Not mincing words here as if someone has issues over toy cars, well I'm a little fascinated with that. ;) I see 'haters' as:

  • Typically a generation younger than I am (mid-30's).
  • 1/4 in to having a family, starting to doubt their true worth now that they've been to the mountain top, reality has a way of introducing itself.
  • When the lights are low, kids tucked in, they put on their lipstick and panty hose, kick back with boxed wine and start to relieve their anxiety it a cowardly way.
In all seriousness, God bless 'em. I've never, ever mentioned religion on my channel, but I am a man of faith so truly want the best for all of man kind. Even little bitches like that. This is no joke.Until then,. it's almost an odd science experiment trying to understand at what point will this odd segment of our society realize that reality has indeed been introduced and staring them down collectively, or individually? Makes none to me either way, believe that or not. My life doesn't change either way/

They said to write something interesting on this blog (still sounds so gay), and this what I find interesting. Go Cowboys! ;-;)

That even impressed me!

Okay, fellas. Look, I'm the first to admit I've got some engines that under the right circumstances get as silly as a nitro engine can possibly get. Real shit. One thing you should know is I have a warped sense of humor. By that I don't mind telling those who are reading this: 'don't go by my videos' when judging their peak performance,

Over the past two years, I have purposely scaled back footage of what my engines do, which is rip ass unlike any I've seen. This is real--should I lie about what I see? I'm also the first to admit that it surprises the hell out of me, but it is what it is.

One reason I've scaled back the 'wicked nasty' footage, is in hopes that someone would doubt my claims. Then, I go for the knockout, by showing my engines in what I typically see.

All I can say is: PLEASE DON'T BELIEVE ME. ;-) I'm simply waiting for the prime opportunity to say, 'Oh yeah?' and then unleash what I view on an almost daily basis.

Said differently, I put out just enough to solicit interest, but to a man, I assure there have been only a few times I've published how freaking nasty my engines get. Bragging? Quite the opposite. I'm setting the bar low in hopes one of these FLBs feel the need to flex muscle in whatever lighting they might have caught in a bottle...at which point I truly lay it down to end any and all conversations with respect to which "approach" is more advantageous".

Now, I'll preface this by saying my initial comparison is based on YT videos. Then one day I noticed my OS25 XZ started turning some heads at the track. Then I noticed my clocked p5, then my Roma...and well pretty soon I might not be able to drive them around the track...but I was obvious on multiple occasions I had the nastiest engine--and soon I was helping those who helped me tune, and it was the pleasure of a lifetime because they went that extra mile in helping me maintain the high bar I have for these things.,

I am a huge fan of Neil Peart, whom for all intents and purposes is known along with Buddy Rich to be the most talented percussionist over the past 50 years. I remember as a kid reading where Neal wrote about how he realizes the skill-set he has.  More importantly he has the realization there is someone---or some people--perhaps from an African tripe that have invented and employed beats which have not been employed in the Western world..If they were, the percussion ensamble would be so complex many would struggle to fully appreciate it. As an 18 year old blaring Rush in his room, you can appreciate how I was like "Yeah man. Neal is really deep, man." Ha ha

But he was. Real shit,

Today, I watched my Tamiya 801XT "hover" with its Clocked Novarossi 28-5. I was running an Alpha 2081 (uhm...we have a match, party people). I was wheeling the Truggy on demand, I wheelied it the length of the field we were on....multiple times, I have much of this on a video coming out called "A Day with the Tamiya 801XT". Every now and then I sit back, and think Deeeeeeyaaaaaam! The last time I thought that in this hobby was when my D8T did the nastiest 20 laps in the history of Truggies. I swear had I published it to Hot Bodies, it would have been there poster vid with respect to attrition.  But it was not fully stock so I kept that footage to myself. I will soon unleash that as I literally laughed out loud with respect to how durable this things can be if you make them like that.

And, uh...I make them like that.

Short Version: I don't profess to be the best at any of this, and have bent over backward to show rather than jibber-jabber. I get--and respect--the fact that so many of you "get it"., ;-) So as to show my gratitude, I'm fixing to unleash some shit that I am confident ALL will appreciate. Just a bunch of footage of nitro rc vehicles going fast and hard at all times. I like it. And if you are in to that kind of stuff, I have a feeling you will too.

And It Was a Bruiser...

Anyone reading this whose track has a truggy class will attest when tell you seeing 8-12 world class truggies, digging in, biting down, and get straight roaring around a track is perhaps the most imposing ting in this hobby., At our old track, it sucked because the pros were always there (FACTORY drivers for X-Ray and Agama) and they'd enter the truggy class as a means to let of some steam between buggy heats so it was pretty much balls to the walls racing.  loved every second of watching just not being humiliated (but I guess everything heat/main after that seemed easy) ;-)

IMO they drive more like MT than a buggy (where everything is twice as fast) , and I think FLB who get truggies don't always appreciate them for what they are.

My desire is to get a truggy that has a solid foundation, but crazy (i.e. real) power on it, and pretty much let it bully whenever.wherever. You see, this time I AM jeapordizing the integrity of it being a truggy, and going hog-ass wild on turning it in to quasi- puerile truck....a straight tribute to Ricky Bonbby Lee. Truly building the type of MT he desperately wants but cannot obtain. I agree in principle with the concept. Lower, wider MT handles better. So mine will be starting out with those attributes. More to come but here is my short list:

No Order o Preference: (I will purchase most likely next month)

1. Losi 8ight-T 3.0: The 8ight series is second to no brand, That' real shit

 2. Mugen MBX7T. I all about this truggy. Inspired me to do this project.

3. Tekno NT48.x: With XRay not having a truggy in their lineup, Tekno becomes the brand I'm most interested in. I hear fascinating things, durabiloty is not one, but that doesn't mean a damn thing.

4, Kyosho Inferno ST-RR READY SET:hat's right, READY SET. Why in the worled would a guy with ~35 engines ~50 pipes, over 60 servos, four starter boxes, etc. get something meant for folks who don't have those items. Well, this is almosrt a perfect scenario. I can sell off the engine/pipe/servos. etc for ~$200. I drive the truggy silly, and upgrade with the kit parts as needed...use whatever leftover to get the 'tuned' version of whatever engine I'm puting in it. ;-)

Seriously, I know little abouty the Ready Set, but it sounds just like that Losi 8ight RTR. Take a look at mine and tell me what you think.
https://youtu.be/45YvaBkBrDY?t=2m02s

See, that's called getting what we want when we want. In other word the Ready Set allows you to truly build off need. I'm intrigued.

I mentioned my epiphany in experiencing occurred when I put on a 25xz on my Hyper 7.

My epiphaneclic*  moment came in watching came when I saw  ST RR EVO rocking a Bonito clear a triple, landing behind two buggies that were battling on the track, and the truggy plowed through them, seemed to dig in a shot off like a rocket. To this date it was the meanest RC vehicle I've ever see
*I know it'a not a word, but it should be

Anyways, here in a month give or take a few weeks, I'm takig out ome angst and building a real bully. You can watch and,......well you can watch.

Online Tip of the Day: You have too much time on your hands

Guys, alcohol and keyboards don't mix. You would not believe the things I've read people write. One of my early jobs had the first company firing for what someone wrote online. (MySpace.) Ha ha,. But it made national news. I talked to the guy who got canned back then he had a lot of problems with his boss. I remember asking "why didn't you just talk to him (or somebody here?)" I thought it was chicken-s to fire him...though. I would have just called him in and asked if he had a problem.

Always be about what you say online is what you would in real life. I guess because I'm pre-Internet that is en-grained in me. Believe me, guys like me are always able to trace back people. I get a resume, within 20 minutes I have a profile of this person regardless how small of a footprint they think they have. This is simply how it is. Nothing online is private. NOTHING. Our cars are toys, just like this damn Internet thing is toy. This is friendly advice I give to everyone. Please be careful and think twice.

Knowing all this, why would you drink and hit that keyboard. Maybe you just don't give a fu*ck, who knows?

Some Cool Documents

On a side note: I have some documentation I will be publishing soon. Among those will be a

Nitro Engine Tuning Guide.
I'm going to publish one of the first chapters on here shortly, I have some thoughts on how to publish this, I know it will be a valuable artifact. For you forum guys, I promise you it's going to be an eye=opener. You will be amazed at how silly it is when you consider the extreme opposite. I am a Sociologist, I spent YEARS studying how cults form, and here is what how I found people respond:
1. They eventually see the light and are mad.
2. They eventually see the light and are sad.
3. They eventually see the light, but are too deep in it to admit they have been fooled (and fooling others).
"It's just RC man" is their next defense. Of course it is (I've been the proponent of that message, remember?) But RC is merely the subject. The act of deceitfulness is what I'm talking about. The fact that it's about RC is a little, strange, but we all have our little issues, I guess. Haha. Real shit and you know I'm right.

On The Non-RC Front
I'll be publishing some Productivity Management techniques as I'm writing a book on that discipline. It's like the only thing the RC-haters can say is "You have too much time on your hands": (due to our videos). Funny, as in reality it's simply: I'M JUST LIKE THAT. Ha ha. I control my scene. You should pray you should ever be able to take on what I do.

Anyway, I know it sounds boring, but i was actually involved with Palm Pilot's initial "To Do" app so have been around the philosophical and technical aspects of this discipline. i.e. I imagine what I have to offer will be useful to at least one person. ;-)

Hey...why'd ya do that?

I've had close to 30 text messages from dudes asking why I disabled comment. Shiiit, I think below my description is a perfect example.

Once the best they can bring is to act stoopid, well then it's obvious: I won. ;-) In other words our generation of hobbyists are a little wiser to ask for second opinions as they learn.

Either that or their not really with it and probably best they don't:
1. Try  nitro
2, Fail immediately
3. Hate on nitro (like this guy below)
I don't know the guy above, but I imagine it's one of the typical guys I see from that UK who have nitro envy. Shiiit, those guys failed so much, they try to make it cool. Why in the hell would you brag about giving up on something? You wouldn't. Guys like this are the type to bump their gums about anything. They say something cute but can't handle having anything else fine as fu*k said back. Ha ha. It's okay though. Now for any of you Limey's thinking of getting your Ulster panties in a twist, my wife is from London, my mom is from Belfast (I LIVED there), I have nothing against the Limey's other than a lot of them are....uppity. Ha ha. People in the UK don't even like that type so....

Anyway, below is a reason why I just don't have the need to allow bottom feeders to litter up my channel with silly shit. It's not like they can engage me at the subject at hand. I know it. They know it. Everyone knows, it. I won. They lost. Now THEY are the ones to shut up and listen. ha ha

Not sure how else to explain it. You goofy bastards. ha ha

Slop Busting Tip

I've learned it's nearly impossible to defeat slop with a single change. I'e come to learn that it's like a virus. Often, when the effects are known, it's due to multiple points of failure.

Tonight I drastically reduced slop by changing a screw. It was a screw going in to a pivot ball in to the spindle arm of an alum steering knuckle. The screw had a lot of play in the knuckle.
It wasn't the knuckle, it wasn't the pivot ball, it wasn't the rod end, it was the screw itself.

I assume either threw maintenance and/or wear and tear, it lost some meat. All I know is it fixed this point of failure which happened to be the most flagrant in this instance.

Slop is gone and I'm once again rolling correct.
